Marge Gehring works with several riders and horses as a volunteer at the HeRD program. Marge says, teary eyed, "I get goose bumps when I even think of a rider I've been working with for eighteen months now because of the growth and change I've seen occur."

"Marge is so addicted to the natural high of working with HeRD horses and riders, she now works with a minimum of five riders each and every week," says Ineqsunaq Tumbloo, Program Director of HeRD. "Marge is not only a vital part of our team at HeRD, she donates money and much needed items for the program monthly. Who will be the next Marge for our riders?"

"I came from a remote area of Alaska to take over as Director of the HeRD program in February, 2008," says Ineqsunaq Tumbloo. "Ten years ago I suffered a severe spinal injury caused by a dog sled accident and now am dodging a wheelchair due to an electrical spinal cord simulator implanted in my body. I can relate to what a lot of our riders experience. I wish I would have had a program with dedicated staff, volunteers and horses to help me learn to walk again"

"Not everyone can give of their time and I understand that. People like myself and all our riders need your generous donations so we can continue our mission of linking horses and riders to exponentially increase their quality of life. Where was my Marge when I needed to learn to walk again? Thank God HeRD is here for me as I know I'll need them as my condition degenerates. Please help us all - we need you!"
